Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for youth ages 10-24.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for college- age youth.
Suicide is the 4th leading cause of death for our youth ages 10-14.
Suicide is PREVENTABLE. 90% youth that attempt suicides that are unsuccessful or blocked, never attempt suicide again.
These statistics provide insight into the potential value of Suicide Risk Assessment Screening, common now within the college community, as an opportunity for better risk identification at the junior high and high school level.
